The Development History of BMW Automobiles: 1918-1932, published to commemorate 75 years of the BMW Automobile, is the first thorough exploration of the exceptionally varied period leading up to the production of the first BMW cars. It examines the company's national and international links as they took shape in the overall context of contemporary social and political events-a challenge for the authors, since there are scarcely any surviving witnesses to these developments, which took place at least three-quarters of a century ago.
